We started were the GM engineers left off. Simply put it is the hood that shows off the lines of the car. This cowl induction hood in 2 1/4" taller than stock at the back of the windshield. The latch is fully bonded and the hood is ready to install out of the box. We kept the OEM style inner for safety and use 6061 aluminum for our hinge points. The inner has an option of either black gel coat or carbon fiber. This hood retains your stock windshield wiper assembly.

Fiberglass: A high-quality fiberglass hood with a full OEM inner, hinge plates and latching system. Includes the rolled edges found on the carbon fiber hood.

Carbon Fiber: Our 3K American Made Carbon Fiber Hood. This hood is manufactured with a special chemical formula which features an Ultra UV resistant clear gel coat. This hood is fully buffed and polished and has an excellent visual finish. The hood inner retains all of the factory reinforcements and retains air functionality and drain holes. These hoods include fully bonded aluminum hinge plates, which ensure a vibration free fitment. The inner is finished in a black gel coat, which can be left unpainted.

So what's a rolled edge, really?

The definition of a rolled edge varies greatly. Some will just take excess hood material and wrap it around the inner, which serves no purpose. Our rolled edges are rolled at 90 degrees for a full .25" and increase stiffness in the hood by up to 50%. Our generation "B" hoods incorporate a double rolled edge which increases stiffness by 100% and reduces weight by 20%. All of our edges are unpainted, real carbon fiber.

Without a quality Latch what good is a hood?

We took the time to fully engineer a factory-quality replacement latching system to guarantee a hood which can be opened over and over without missing a beat. Our latch assemblies are mandrel bent and TIG welded, deburred and then chrome-plated. It may seem like a lot of effort for a latch, but we are selling quality.

Too much resin will turn a hood yellow; not enough gel coat will make a hood print the carbon pattern and hand lay-ups are plagued with thousands of air bubbles. Our high and low pressure processes allow for a wide array of product possibilities. Our clear gel coat is more difficult to apply and more expensive than conventional clear coats, but the difference is in the finish.
