Camaro V1 Dashtronix Projector
Valentine 1 Radar Detector Heads-Up Dashtronix Display Projector for the 2010 and newer Camaro
If you want full visual display of your radar detector projected on your front windshield, the Dashtronix radar detector HUD/DIC projector is ideal for your Chevrolet Camaro. The Dashtronix projector provides a heads-up display of all pertinent detector information--a complete replication of the V1 display, in fact right in front of your driver dash that's easy to read and incredibly convenient. This also allows for an invisible installation of your radar detector without losing functionality in your Camaro.

Now you can display your Valentine 1 radar detector in your radio, DIC (when DIC is placed in Navigation mode), and HUD (if equipped) cars. The HUD is not required to display your V1 on your radio and DIC.
The tiny Radar Projector comes with everything you need right out of the box. It plugs into your car at the OBD-II port under the steering column with the included 3 foot cable. It automatically controls the power to your Valentine 1, using the telephone cord that came with your Valentine 1, by sensing when you turn your engine on and off without the need for tapping fuses, wires or using the lighter outlet.

Here are some of the exciting new features of the new Radar Projector.
-
There are three operational modes:
-
Display on radio, HUD (if equipped) and DIC (when DIC is placed in Navigation mode).
-
Display on radio, HUD (if equipped), and DIC at the same time.
-
Radar Projector Off and the V1 display will be illuminated.
-
There are two different radar signal strength display formats in both
the HUD (if equipped), and DIC (when DIC is placed in Navigation mode).
-
Format 1: Meters run right to left on the HUD (if equipped) cars and top to bottom on the DIC (when DIC is placed in Navigation mode) and radio.
-
Format 2: Meters run left to right (HUD, DIC and radio use asterisks)
-
The RP modes and display formats can be switched by the user while
driving.
-
Just turn your radar detector off and then back on to switch display formats on the RP.
-
When the car is shut off, the RPTM will remember the last used mode so when you start your car, the RP starts in the same mode as you last selected.
Each time your Radar Projector is first plugged in to your car, it will determine what mode the Valentine 1 is in. You will see the current mode displayed on the HUD, DIC and radio as soon as the Valentine 1 indicates it. You will not see any more mode updates unless you change the mode.
-
The Radar Projector (RP) uses your car's navigation functionality to project the Valentine 1 display. The navigation direction symbol is used to indicate only the strongest signal. The characters “FSR” are used to indicate the directions of all signals your Valentine 1 is currently receiving. Unlike the arrows on your Valentine 1, the “FSR” characters will not flash since the navigation symbol will indicate that flashing arrow.
-
If the strongest signal is coming from the side, you will see the side arrow swap directions approximately once per second. Though radar coming from the side is not a threat, the swapping directions of the side arrow remind you that the signal is coming from either direction.
-
When the distance meter indicator car's navigation display is used to indicate the signal strength, that meter runs from right-to-left, weakest-to-strongest in the HUD. This is opposite to the meter on the Valentine 1 and is how the HUD displays navigation data. The DIC and radio show the meter up-to-down, weakest-to-strongest. When asterisks are used, that meter runs from left to right.
-
When more than one band is active, the RP will place [square brackets] around the band with the strongest signal. Unlike the Valentine 1 band indicators, the RP bands will not flash.
-
When you change the mode of your Valentine 1, the vehicle will beep and the RP will indicate this to you for approximately 2.5 seconds before returning to normal functionality.
-
For those models of Valentine 1 that indicate a “junk signal” by displaying a flashing “J”, the RP will indicate “NO THREAT” when this situation occurs.
-
The DIC will only show RP information when the DIC is in “Navigation” mode. To enter this mode, with the car on, press the “MENU” button on the turn signal lever and use the thumb-wheel to select “Turn-by-Turn” mode. When the DIC shows a compass-rose and the word “Navigation”, the DIC can display RP information.
-
Information from the RP will always override information from your audio system.
-
If you manually shut off your Valentine 1 when the car is still running, or turn on your car with the Valentine 1 manually shut off, the RP will indicate this condition. When the Valentine 1 is manually turned back on, the RP will indicate this condition then return to normal functionality. Cycling Valentine 1 power within a certain time window will change the RP's mode (see previous page).
-
When you are using OnStar Turn-by-Turn simultaneously with the RP, the unit is also updating the vehicle with its own information. The navigation unit override information from the RP, until the status of the Valentine 1 changes. This time period can be as short as 400 milliseconds to indefinite depending on the state of the Valentine 1. DashTronix suggests you place the RP in “off” mode when using Turn-by-Turn.
