The Borla Sport, also known as the Stinger and S-Type, was one of the most universally respected exhaust systems available for the C6 Corvette, but did have some complaints. Mainly, those complaints focused on excessive cabin drone from that system. Well, Borla Performance Exhaust Systems is run by a number of automotive perfectionists, and they took these criticisms to heart. Going back to R&D in 2011, they developed this new Sport system which features the same deep, powerful, and aggressive exhaust tone of the prior system but also couples with a greatly decreased cabin drone. What has resulted is one of the most incredibly sounding and evenly balanced exhaust systems on the market today.

By greatly increasing air flow through the exhaust piping and straight-through muffler design, a new Borla exhaust will provide HP and Torque gains through the RPM range for your C6 Corvette. These performance gains will also be coupled with incredible exhaust tonal and volume improvements that truly unleash the beast that is the rumble and growl of an American small-block V8 system. This system will provide your C6 Corvette with the unmistakable tone that only a Chevy LS engine can provide.

BORLA engineers went right to work on the C6 Corvette as soon as they were available. We have put together the largest variety of options in the industry, and there’s more on the way. Cat-Back systems are available with the highly popular “S-Type” muffler and merge “X” pipe for those who like it on the wild side as well as with our “Touring” muffler for those who prefer it mild. Both come in an assortment of tip styles and can be purchased with or without an “X” pipe.

We saw a 10-15 hp gain with our S-Type rear section and a few more with our X-pipe. The full S-Type Cat-Back system with the X-pipe should consistently get 12-15hp on a stock C6 but can also get 18+ hp depending on the conditions. Please note a number of variables affect the horsepower delta with dynomometers .

Borla offers a variety of options for the C5, C6 and Z06. Choose from several tip styles and muffler designs. Cat-Backs and Rear Sections are available with either the highly popular “S-Type” muffler or the “Touring” muffler.  The “S-Type” is a smaller, round muffler with a center-in/center-out configuration giving a more aggressive sound and higher flow.  For those who prefer it on the milder side, we have the “Touring” muffler -- a larger case producing less aggressive sound.  Some come with an assortment of tip designs.
