2005 Corvette Overview
The 2005 Corvette marks the 6th generation of its legacy, delivering more power than ever before. The C6 performance car was clearly a step above any other. It brought Corvette to a new level with the ability to hit speeds of 186MPH while hitting 0-60 in 4.2 seconds and finishing quarter miles in well under 13 seconds.
Along with the C6's power came efficiency. Its low vehicle mass, world-class chassis dynamics and 6.0L LS2 V-8 engine allows the Corvette to be an efficient vehicle on multiple levels. The 2005 Corvette has the best combination of horsepower and fuel economy among the entire world's top performing vehicles including Porsches, Ferraris and the Dodge Viper.
Not only did the power of the Corvette significantly increase, but the body designed changed drastically. It was a completely "fresh" design, yet unmistakably "Corvette". They reduced the overall length of the car while still leaving plenty of room for the passengers. They also redesigned the front grill, the hood, and the fenders to give the car a very distinguishable front.

2006 Corvette Overview
2006 was a big year for Corvette with the arrival of the C6 Z06 Corvette. The model had a new engine, a LS7 7.0L V-8 that blew the LS2 away. This was the "racecar" that Corvette needed. Along with the Z06, many other features were removed and added. Some of the features they removed include the Millennium Yellow exterior color as well as the Magnetic Red Metallic exterior color. As for interior colors, Steel Gray was no longer an option. Also, Corvette stopped using the 2.73 and 3.15 axle ratio and 4-speed automatic transmissions that they had been using in the past.
With all the removal of colors in 2006, there had to be additions made. The two new exterior colors of the series were Velocity Yellow Tintcoat and Monterey Red Metallic Tintcoat. Corvette also added options for a Titanium Gray interior color and a Storm Gray convertible top. Along with the colors came three-spoke steering wheels and XM Satellite Radio.
One of the more important new features of the 2006 series was the 6-speed paddle shift automatic transmission. This was an option on the coupe and the convertible. Unfortunately, the Z06 came standard with a 6-speed manual transmission with no option of the 6-speed paddle shift. As for engines, the coupe and convertible stuck with the LS2 6.0L V-8 and the Z06 came soaring in LS7 7.0L V-8.

2007 Corvette Overview
The 2007 series of Corvette comes in a coupe, convertible, or Z06 model. The coupes come with a lift-roof panel. Convertibles have a manual-folding top and an automatic folding top is optional. The Z06 is a hatchback with a fixed roof panel. There was not much change from the 2006 Corvette to the 2007 in specifications. However, there was a great deal of controversy over the new color, atomic orange. The car was the same as the previous year, but the new color and a somewhat larger glove box seemed to have caused a very large increase in price.
Along with the change in color came a few other minor upgrades. For example, steering wheel mounted audio controls were added with Bose premium audio systems. Another nice option that was added was the two tone modified seat for the Z06 model that has the crossed flag logo embroidered into the seat. Also, On-Star was an option on the Z06 along with an enhanced acoustic package.
