Corvette C6 Z06 (2006-present) Removable Front License Plate Bracket
Do you live in a state where a front license plate is mandatory? We have a solution for all you Corvette C6 Z06 owners that gives you the ability to easily put on and take off your front plate at will. With our patented locking design, you can simply snap the plate into place and pull it off when you do not want it on the car. When it is off of the car, you cannot even tell that there was supposed to be a plate on the car. No adhesives or glue is used and the plate is a completely paint touch free, not part of the plate bracket assembly touches the painted surface of your car. Install is fairly simple and can be reversed without leaving holes in your Corvette.
Installation instructions:
Parts List
- Mounting bracket
- Removable plate frame
- ¼-20 X 1.5” machine screw
- ¼ 20 Wing nut
- 2 - ¼-20 X 5/8” machine screws
Tools needed
- ¼” drive nut driver handle
- 7mm socket
- Flat bladed screwdriver
Installation:
- Jack up car and place on jack stands in such a manner to gain easy access to the bottom of the front bumper. Refer to user’s manual for correct jacking procedure.
- With the 7mm socket and nut driver handle remove and save the 7mm screws that hold the lower air dam to the fascia at the three slots on the left (driver’s) side of the car. Remove the 7mm screws on either side of the driver’s side skid plate at the back of the fascia and pull the fascia down slightly to gain access to the top of the skid plate.
- Using the 7mm screws mount the forward portion of the mounting bracket to the fascia behind the air dam but do not tighten the screws as you will need to adjust the mount left or right to get proper alignment.
- Push the bracket up against the skid plate and insert the machine screw through the two slotted holes in the mount. Install the wing nut and hand tighten.
- Replace the rear section of the fascia, install screws, and tighten.
- Insert frame through the lower air dam holes and into the mount bracket until it snaps in place. Noting where the alignment of the plate frame through the holes is equidistant from each side of the air dam holes, pull out the plate frame and tighten the front 7mm screws.
- Lower car off jack stands.
- Insert your license plate into the plate frame and install the ¼” 20 X 5/8” screws into the lower two holes in the plate frame.
- Installation is now complete
