Nissan GT-R Dry Carbon Trunks
Dry Carbon Trunk Lids for the Nissan GTR R35 by Mine's
Mine's has manufactured and developed two fantastic dry carbon fiber trunk lid options for the Nissan GT-R. The first, the Type I is designed for use with the stock rear wing. The Type II trunk lid is manufactured with attachment wings for the Mine's Dry Carbon rear spoiler option. Both trunk lids are drastically lighter than the stock option, (Weighing in at about 1/3 of the stock trunk lid's weight), and are fantastic looking body component pieces.
Both trunk lids are available either with or without the Mine's Super Clear Coating.
Both trunk lids are designed to easily bolt on with the standard, stock placement.

Some people have had questions as to the difference between standard Carbon Fiber (which is technically Wet Carbon) and these Dry Carbon parts. There is a very large difference between the two, and it comes as a result of the way in which they're constructed to offer differences in final integrity and weight. Standard Carbon Fiber is constructed by using a wet lay-up structure, which is very similar to the way in which fiberglass is laid. In this process the resins, which structurally bond the carbon fibers, are laid in seperately from the carbon fibers so that they are not distributed completely evenly throughout the carbon fiber product . With Dry Carbon, the resins are pre-impregnated so that fewer are used but they are distributed more evenly throughout the product. Because of this a much higher heat and a vacuum are necessary for proper curing, but once cured this Dry Carbon has a natural outer coating, another way in which it saves weight over its Wet Carbon bretheren. In all, the Dry Carbon weighs around 75% less as well as much greater structural strength and integrity, making it a vastly superior product on an already great vehicle upgrade.
