In the digital system, 6 cars can race at a time on as few as 1 lane or as many as a dozen lanes (if you have the space to build such a large track). Competitors can change lanes to pass their competitors, track lap times on a Chronometer, keep track of laps raced, and pull into the Pit Box to refuel their cars as they run low on gas. The cars have an intelligent computer chip in them that responds realistically to driver commands or the situation of the race (such as stuttering when they are running out of gas).
