The Previous generation C6 Corvette grew in size and weight, so they wanted to make the new C6 Corvette smaller and lighter. The body was redesigned with exposed headlights to remove the weight involved in building a hideaway headlight system. Engine power was also increased to 400 horsepower, the same as the previous years Z06. The new Z06 horsepower was increased to 505 and the ZR1 C6 Corvette would have over 600 horsepower. Obviously all of the new C6 Corvettes are performers so Wilwood offers several brake improvement kits. If you track your C6 Corvette, Wilwood offers a W6A Big Brake Front Brake Kit (Race) and a matching rear kit. This system can withstand the rigors of heavy track action. The Previous generation C6 Corvette grew in size and weight, so they wanted to make the new C6 Corvette smaller and lighter. The body was redesigned with exposed headlights to remove the weight involved in building a hideaway headlight system. Engine power was also increased to 400 horsepower, the same as the previous years Z06. The new Z06 horsepower was increased to 505 and the ZR1 C6 Corvette would have over 600 horsepower. Obviously all of the new C6 Corvettes are performers so Wilwood offers several brake improvement kits. FEA technology allows the designer to test the prototype in a computer environment to determine the optimal structural design within the dimensional parameters of the component. Stress flow forging produces a part with the internal grain structure of the metal aligned in the direction of the flow of the body contour. The results are a caliper with superior clamping efficiency and ultimate strength against fatigue, stresses, and distortion under load.      This caliper generates big brake clamping force with six differential bore stainless steel pistons. Stainless steel is used for its high resistance to corrosion and low thermal conductivity that reduces the heat transfer from the pads.
