Akrapovic's sporty and lightweight conical Racing exhaust system with 4-2-1 stainless steel header set and hex muffler offers a great balance between price and performance, and represents the first step in the exhaust system tuning process for your BMW S1000 RR. The change will be one that improves performance and exhaust tone, as well as one that's a visual stand out as the Akrapovic conical hexagonal muffler perfectly fits the exterior line of the BMW superbike and adds a clean racing image. The system is significantly lighter when compared to the stock and features exceptional production quality, combined with a racing sound output. The muffler outer sleeve is made of your choice of aerospace titanium or vacuum pressed carbon fiber, while the end cap is made of carbon fiber.
Akrapovic Racing systems are designed for riders who demand maximum performance from their S1000 RR. These Akrapovic Exhaust and Header systems are significantly lighter when compared to the stock exhaust system and feature exceptional production quality, hi-tech materials and of course increased engine performance combined with pure racing sound output. The Akrapovic Racing systems were developed to complement the racing character of the S 1000 RR. The Racing system uses stainless steel header tubes and link pipe, and is finished with your choice of either titanium or carbon fiber muffler--each with the unique carbon fiber end cap.
The power increase with the Akrapovic system is substantial, and can be seen from 7000 rpm right to the top of the range. At 13,270 rpm we measured peak performance of191.30 HP, with a maximum increase of 11.15 HP over stock at 8450 rpm. The system’s effect on the torque and power curve is huge, and the extra power is strongest in the RPM midrange where most driving is done. The main increase starts at around 4500 rpm and continues right into the over-rev range. All this will help you shave lap times and result in a much smoother ride. Akrapovic's incredible design also results in shaving almost 14 pounds off of your motorcycles weight, and will provide a new, more aggressive exhaust tone that's race-inspired and unlike anything you've ever heard before.
Akrapovic also makes the same system with a shorter, wider, Hex Muffler design. The benefits of the shorter muffler are both visual, as many people prefer the short design, but they also result in a more aggressive exhaust tone with higher volume. The muffler length does not affect performance in any noticable way.

Shipping
We utilize UPS, Fedex, and USPS for all of our shipping needs. Carrier choice is based upon availability and needs of the customer and is the sole discretion of SouthernCarParts. We always try to ship within 24 hours of order placement (do to the custom nature of some products, shipping within 24 hours is impossible, actual shipping time frames will be listed in the product description). Please keep in mind that some products such as Custom Fit Car Covers, Lloyds Floor Mats, Painted accessories, and Racemesh Products can take 3 -10 days to ship and are charged at time of order placement. Racemesh products take 4 weeks to ship as they are made to order.
Returns
Should you need to return a part for refund, exchange, or credit, please contact our returns department within 30 days of purchase at orders@southerncarparts.com for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Most problems, such as installation, can be solved with a telephone call (888-631-1433). Southern Car Parts will not accept returned goods without prior authorization and an RMA# written clearly on the exterior of the box. The customer is responsible for freight on all return orders. Parts authorized to be returned, on a non-exchange basis, are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Returns will only be accepted within 30 days of the original date of shipment. Custom painted parts - Once these parts are started, we can refund you less the paint(chemicals) that have been used. Exception is rear spoilers and front splitters, we can refund less 20%.
Custom-made-to-order items are NOT returnable. This includes embroidered floor mats and car covers.
Damages in Shipping
All damages from shipping must be reported to Southern Car Parts within two business days from tracking number delivery confirmation. After two business days, damages become the responsibility of the customer.
