The most popular modification for the Corvette is too replace the factory Air Box with an aftermarket system. And all it takes is a quick glance at the stock air box to see why you will want to change it out. It's awfully restrictive with a narrow air bridge and an undersized filter element. Replacing the Corvette intake is usually less than a 1 hour installation, typically costs less than $500 dollars and reaps big rewards on the dyno. You can expect rear wheel horsepower increases of 10-15 HP (typical) across the board with most replacement intake system we offer. All in all, it's very appealing from a cost/benefit perspective.

     After 1 full year of R&D, the all-new C-6 Snake charmer ram air induction kit is finally ready for the street. The snake charmer is a heavy development of the original C-5 B2 unit. We used information gathered from 12 special B2 Race units that we constructed for racing only, these units featured many different internal aerodynamic packages and filter combinations, to maximize peak CFM and time to peak manifold pressure. We have emphasized too many customers and racing teams that it’s not just peak pressure but the time to peak manifold pressure that we look at, this occurs at shift recovery, down in the meat of the power curve. This helps for shooting off of corners, general drivability, and overall peak performance, this shows up in the form of Torque& Lots of it. Like all VR units the snake charmer was not designed for dynoing (pulling air) it was designed for ramming as such the aero package and shape of the unit is designed around this. The philosophy is simple; design for the most efficient aero package possible at all speeds ranging from 10mph- 180mph. The snake charmer is over 108%-123% efficient!! How much power will you get? So now the how much power will you get question- standing on a dyno without using any special programming you should expect 10-15hp from any cold air kit,but once moving the VR will put all the lost MAP pressure back into the plenum yielding another 17hp by 60mph 19-20by 90-100mph and the way we rate our kits is through a ¼ mile Your total power through a ¼ mile is about another 22hp plus the dyno hp of 10-15hp,so, on the low side, 32 Rear wheel hp, high side 37 Rear wheel hp. That’s 39- 42hp at the flywheel through a ¼ mile.     If you're looking for optimal performance numbers for your C6 Z06 a proper cold air intake system and dyno tune are necessary, and this incredible MF107 Halltech Super Bee is the premiere tuner intake available. Designed and manufactured specifically for the C6 Z06, the Halltech Super Bee MF107 is unmatched by the competition. Designed originally for use with the Williams Performance 102mm Throttle Body/FAST LSXR 102 intake manifold, and big cam and heads motors,  the Super Bee MF107R inlet measures 106.7mm and so does the outlet. The MF107R Super Bee is larger than any throttle body on the market, so the point of restriction will never be the air induction system again for your C6 Z06. Halltech's Super Flow 15" Filter with our built in velocity stack, and MAF Forward design brings nearly fully developed laminar flow to the MAF meter for perfect idle quality and accurate closed loop and open loop reporting. This intake is for the tuner who is looking for the maximum flow numbers, where tuning is already required due to other mods.     2005-2013 C6 Corvette Vararam Power Wedge Vararam Power Wedge Throttle Body Spacer for the LS2 and LS3 powered C6 CorvetteThe Vararam Power Wedge is a brilliantly designed throttle body wedge piece that improves MAP pressures by maintaining an increased pressure number over the RPM band. This increase results in increases to HP and Torque numbers--especially in the mid-range of the RPM band where most driving is done. However, even though peak gains are seen around the mid-range of the band, gains can be found across the entire band as result of installation of the Power Wedge. These gains are achieved through the Power Wedge's ingenious design which tilts the throttle body downward to a specific point of attack, which allows for the lower passage to open up to nearly true 100% volume on air flow.Manufactured from machined Zytel plastic--a powerful, durable, lightweight plastic component that's incredibly heat resistant and used by many manufacturers for the OEM throttle body pieces--this piece provides balance to the plenum inside the bore for increased performance and amazing durability. The change to the plenum allows for the manifold vacuum to pull evenly across the entire neck in a more uniform manner, and as such reduces unwanted backpressure air flow drops, ultimately increasing total air flow. This is a good thing as, in terms of performance numbers, air flow is the name of the game. The rear of the Power Wedge also integrates a variable radius air horn which functions to boost air velocity just before it enters the body of the intake manifold plenum. Again, the function of this aspect is to increase air flow volume and push power numbers higher.How does this benefit the engine at such a low/RPM lift value? Because we are not increasing the volume of the intake runner or cylinder head, the flow increase will substantially increase the RAM TUNING inside the intake manifold runners. The increase is occurring at the most important area, the beginning /lower area of the pressure wave. A pressure wave acts like a wave coming to shore, building boost pressure behind the intake valve. If the base energy of the wave is increased, it strengthens the wave exponentially towards your Torque peak. This will show up in the form of TORQUE increases from low to mid-range RPMโ€™s. The Torque increases will carry up the power curve leading to an increase in overall HP all the way to redline. Data Logging has also shown a consistent +.10PSI increase in the manifold pressure at 5200-5800RPM on an LS-3. A Stock LS-3 in a C6 Corvette or Camaro will normally hit a max of 14.40 PSI@ 5200RPM and pull back to 14.20-14.10@ 5600-5800RPM or so. This is the max power peak RPM range on a stock LS-3. (RPM over run between shifts will always show a false numbers on data logs)How much Torque can this add and where will I notice the gains? Based on the flow increases we normally see, this would yield approximately +18-20ftlbs at 2500-4000RPM from a stock LS-3. Mid-Range numbers are usually +12-14 ft. lbs. @ 4500-4800RPM on a stock LS-3. Our Dyno testing of C6 Corvettes, Camaroโ€™s etc. verify these figures. The horsepower generated at higher RPM will depend on the amount of torque gained down low and in the Torque peak.Custom tuned vehicles: This product offers substantial gains; these gains will result in more airflow, which means more MAF scaling. Some vehicles that have been custom tuned may need to be returned so the MAF does not over scale. Using the LS-3 spacer MAF scaling will rise substantially at lower/Mid-Range RPM levels, + 175-250HZ, peak HZ is usually +90-120HZ. (VR Equipped Camaros only, A6 & M6 models) If the vehicle is custom tuned or has a Tuner on it, it will need to be re-tuned to realize the gains from the Power Wedge. If the Vehicle is not retuned the MAF will over scale causing the ECU to delay/pull timing advance and it will go rich.WHY only the VR? The spacer will move the VR closer to the throttle body, increasing MAF scaling and it will run leaner, by 1%. The flow increase is greater with the VR than for any other intake system because it accelerates airflow even sitting still by design. (The MAF numbers will rise well over 275-300HZ@45-4800RPM and 125-200HZ@ 5800RPM) basically, its maxing out the MAF sooner. Simply upgrading to a Tune model tail section will allow the MAF to go up to 700hp.The Power wedge was born from the VRX Intake manifold program. Our research showed that most of the OEM manifolds had the intake manifold neck pointed upward at about 8 degrees. This is done in order to clear the water pumps and to soften throttle tip in response. In this position, at wide open throttle the blade extends into the manifold neck and plenum up to 1 full inch downward angle position. This blocks a portion of the lower section of the flow path. In short This means that when you are at WIDE open throttle you are only getting about 88-92% of the flow that is possible from whatever throttle body you are running.The Power wedge can be used on a stock car or a car making insane HP numbers, stroker motors and supercharged applications.
